Printing From a Laptop

Configuring iPrint at VLS

(If you have already installed iPrint and want to install printers, click HERE now)

iPrint makes it easy to print from your laptop!

(Note: You must be on campus to run the iPrint installation.)

iPrint lets you print to select Vermont Law School printers, from your own personal laptop, when you are on campus. When you print, your page count is affected the same as printing from the computer lab. Once you install the iPrint client, you can easily configure new printers on your laptop, and print to them whenever you are on campus!

iPrint Questions and Answers:

  • Does it work over wireless? Yes!
  • Do I need to have the Novell Client installed? No! The Novell Client doesn't have to be on your computer, but it's okay if it is.
  • Can I use it to print from a Macintosh or other a computer running something other than Windows? At this time there is a client available for Mac and Linux. We are still working out driver issues for these operating systems. We hope to make MAC and Linux drivers available shortly after the Spring 2010 semester begins.

  • How to Install iPrint

If you are on the VLS campus, you can use iPrint to configure printers on your laptop, using only a web browser!
    1. If it is your first time installing a printer using iPrint, you will be asked to download and run the iPrint client (NIPP.EXE)
    2. After you have installed this, you select the printer you wish to install.
    3. An authentication dialog will pop up. Turn on the checkbox to remember your password. Login using your NOVELL username and password.
    4. You will be asked to confirm the installation of the printer
    5. The drivers will automatically be downloaded to your computer. This can take up to 5 minutes.
    6. Remember to go back to the webpage for final setup instructions
