Dear Swans, Welcome to a new year at Vermont Law School. Whether you are returning or new to Vermont Law this year, I wish you the best in your educational pursuits.
You are a member of the Vermont Law Student Bar Association. The elected and appointed representatives are here to represent your interests and needs. We cannot do this effectively without input from you. Please, come to our meetings, speak on the issues that affect you and be in contact with us throughout the year. You can also join committees, run for elected positions in the future, participate in student opinion polls, and attend our monthly Town Hall Meetings.
I encourage you to get involved in the numerous student organizations here. I think you will find at least one that is of interest to you. Student group participation is an excellent way to build community and to become more well-rounded in your legal education. Events and meetings that allow you to talk with others about what you are learning make classes more meaningful and, in some cases, increases your understanding of various subjects.
