Alana DeGarmo

Biography

Alana DeGarmo joined Vermont Law School in 2018. She has worked as a Professor, Assistant Dean, Director of Legal Writing, and Academic Advisor in her 20 years as a legal educator in J.D., LL.M., graduate, and undergraduate programs. She specializes in communications and legal analysis and writing. She practiced law in California and drafted briefs for a number of high-profile cases, including death penalty and civil rights cases.

Alana also specializes in online legal curriculum development and assessment, and has served as a subject matter expert, course developer, and team lead for numerous courses for over twelve years. She was legal editor for PMBR Multistate Bar Review and contributor to PMBR's Exam Skills Workbook. She was Law Review Editor-in-Chief at the University of La Verne College of Law, where she graduated cum laude. Alana is a licensed real estate broker and a former officer in the U.S. Air Force.
