With a multicultural understanding of dispute resolution and a familiarity with disparate legal systems, attorney Gretchen Oldham recently joined the award-winning international arbitration team of Cleary Gottlieb Paris. In addition to providing legal and logistical support to the firm’s senior attorneys, Oldham’s role comes with an outreach aspect. She works on marketing and educational initiatives for the firm’s substantial international arbitration and public international law practice and supports publication and speaking events. An ability to handle complex, cross-border cases is becoming increasingly valuable in our globalizing world. “The international dual-degree option is one of Vermont Law School’s best-kept secrets,” says Oldham. “It could become as big as its environmental program.”
