Recurring gifts
Recurring gifts spread your total gift over time and provide a reliable stream of support that helps sustain the excellent programs at VLS. Gifts of $10, $20, or more a month add up to a generous yearly donation. All donors giving at $83.33 a month and above for three consecutive years are considered members of the VLS Leaders' Circle.
How It Works
- We will charge your credit card on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
- We will send you a statement in January that can be used for tax purposes.
- Your gift will automatically renew each year.
Enroll online via our secure online giving site. Just enter the desired amount of each installment as the Gift Amount (ie $10), choose "Recurring Gift" under Gift Type, and be sure to indicate the frequency of your donation.
Pledge
Making a multi-year pledge enables you to spread out a larger gift over several years and helps VLS budget by providing a reliable source of funding.
Multi-year pledges are an ideal way to make a gift in support of a building project or in honor of a class gift. Pledges are often made during a reunion year, with the full amount of your pledge counting toward your class's reunion gift total. And many of our donors make a generous pledge to the Annual Fund through the VLS Leaders' Circle.
To make a pledge online, please enter the total amount of your donation (ie $5000) as the Gift Amount, choose "New Pledge to Give" or "New Leaders' Circle Pledge" as applicable under Gift Type, and indicate how many years you would like to complete your pledge.
Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities are tax deductible at full fair-market value if the donor has owned the asset for at least one year. To avoid capital gains taxes, you must provide the securities themselves, not the proceeds of their sale.
