Biography
Dean Gimenez is a 2003 graduate of the Vermont Law School, where she served as Vermont Editor of the Vermont Law Review; member of the National Moot Court Team; and Dean's Fellow. Dean Gimenez teaches Legal Profession, Pre-trial Litigation/Disability Law, and Evidence Labs.
A native of Madrid, Spain, Dean Gimenez earned her Licenciatura from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in 1990. Prior to attending law school, Dean Gimenez taught Spanish and Spanish Literature at Dartmouth College, Colby College, and the University of Virginia. After receiving her JD degree and prior to joining VLS, Dean Gimenez served as a law clerk for the Hon. Jeffrey L. Amestoy, Chief Justice of the Vermont Supreme Court, and practiced law at Langrock Sperry & Wool, LLP, in Burlington, Vermont.
Dean Gimenez's areas of interest include Civil Rights, Higher Education Law, Disability Discrimination, Professional Responsibility, and Evidence. Her note on "Vermont Rule of Evidence 404(b): Admissibility of Prior Bad Acts in the "Context" of Child Molestation Cases" was published in the Vermont Law Review.
In 2009, Dean Gimenez received the Peggy R. Williams Emerging Professional Award, presented by the Vermont Women in Higher Education to a woman in higher education in the early stages of her career who demonstrates excellence in her professional contributions and shows promise and potential for future contributions.
