Law in the Arctic: a presentation by Professor Betsy Baker
Professor Betsy Baker will share with the VLS community the incredible experience of being on the USCG icebreaker Healy, helping with the State Department project to map the extended continental shelf of the United States in the Arctic Ocean this past summer. Professor Baker states,"This experience has changed how I teach, how I think about treaties, how I see the physical environment around me, and how I think about law's reliance on science and scientists to produce better legislation and treaties." She will share photos, maps, and video footage. For more information about the trip, please visit her weblog at arctic-healy-baker-2008.blogspot.com.
