Liaison Services

 

The professional librarians are available to provide a number of library and research services to faculty.

• In-class Legal Research Instruction
  We are available to teach your students topical legal research. Whether or not you assign a research project, we can help your students become more familiar with the legal bibliography in a particular area. In inter-disciplinary courses we can demonstrate aspects of the non-legal bibliography as well. In conjunction with this instruction we can add research resources to your courseware pages.
• Current-awareness services
  The librarians can assist you in setting up clippings services in Westlaw, LexisNexis, or a variety of other current-awareness services on the web. Once set up, these services automatically search and email headlines of articles relevant to your research.
• Listservs and blogs
  In addition to the brief list on this page, the librarians can assist you in locating listservs and blogs relevant to your research. Subscriptions are available to some blogs, allowing you to receive daily email updates.
• Collection development
  If you identify an area in which the library should have stronger collections, we can recommend titles. Faculty always should feel free to request that a particular title or electronic resource be added to the collections.

• Courseware content
  If you use TWEN or Blackboard on LexisNexis to support your courses, the librarians can assist you in finding and adding research resources, both print and electronic, to your courseware pages.
• SSRN Research Paper Series
  Please contact Chenfang Yang (x1445) in the library for information about SSRN, the Social Science Research Network, and, for assistance submitting your publications to the Vermont Law School Studies Research Paper Series. Please follow these instructions regarding submissions.
