VLS's ACS Named Student Chapter of the Week
February 14, 2012
The Vermont Law School chapter of the American Constitution Society was recently named student chapter of the week by the ACS.
Led by its faculty advisor, Professor Cheryl Hanna, the VLS chapter has been busy hosting events that shape the debate on emerging issues and that provide a space for respectful and intelligent discussion.
The chapter began the spring semester by having noted animal law scholar VLS Associate Professor Pamela Vesilind discuss whether animal rights are constitutional rights? The chapter also partnered with Public Citizen to host a teach-in on the wide ranging effects of the Citizens United decision.
Later this semester, noted professor and constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley will discuss his latest high profile case as lead counsel representing the Brown family from TLC's "Sister Wives," a TV reality show about polygamy.
