Environmental Law Librarian & Reference Librarians
Christine Ryan, Environmental Law Librarian, provides expertise in environmental resources. Every fall, she teaches Introduction to Legal Research, and in the summer, Advanced Environmental Legal Research. Christine also teaches individual research sessions for doctrinal classes and serves as Research Advisor to the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law. She selects all new environmental books and electronic resources for the library. She and her reference librarian colleagues are available to meet with students, faculty and staff about their information needs and to help enhance research skills.Environmental Collection
Located on the loft level of the library, the Environmental Collection, comprised of nearly 20,000 volumes, concentrates on materials related to environmental decision making, as well as the environmental curriculum and experiential programs at VLS. The Collection is diverse and has evolved to reflect the changing nature of the discipline; topics include planning and zoning, hazardous waste, biodiversity, sustainability, environmental justice, climate change, water law, energy law and policy, environmental economics, and more.We welcome your title suggestions for the Collection.
Environmental Databases
The Library subscribes to a number of online databases that focus on environmental law and support the study of and research in environmental law. They are freely available for use by the VLS community.
