ClimateWire
A comprehensive, daily coverage of climate policy issues and the effects of climate change on business, the environment and society, by Environment & Energy Publishing. Includes a Climate Digest and special reports. Archive searches all E & E Publishing stories back to 1996 where climate change stories were published prior to the 2008 debut of ClimateWire.
Columbia International Affairs Online
A comprehensive source for research in international affairs. Publishes a wide range of scholarship back to 1991 including working papers from university research institutes, foundation-funded research projects, proceedings, books, journals, case studies, policy briefs, etc.
Ebrary
A collection of thousands of online full-text books and other materials in a variety of subject areas. All are listed in JULIEN, but they can be searched full-text through the Ebrary site.
EcoAméricas
EcoAméricas covers development and the environment in Latin America for an international audience of businesses, NGOs and public agencies.
EIS: Digests of Environmental Impact Statements
The federal government issues hundreds of environmental impact statements each year - and this one resource provides detailed abstracts of all of those statements, also indexing them for easy reference. EIS extracts the key issues from complex government-released environmental impact statements, converting massive documents into concise, readable abstracts. Each entry includes a clear description of the project, sections on positive impact and negative consequences, and legal mandates.

Includes Litigation (10,000+ cases!); Federal Laws and Regulations; State, Administrative, and International Materials; Guidance & Policy Collection; Briefs & Pleadings; etc. often as far as 1971. Full text non-law journals in a number of subject areas including Ecology, Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science, Populations Studies, Sociology, Statistics, etc. Includes the Journal of Ecology back to 1913 and Ecology back to 1920.
Land Letter
Provided in-depth reporting on regulations, litigation, legislation, and analysis on natural resource policy issues including water allocation, energy development, forest management planning, Endangered Species Act disputes, wetlands regulations, etc. from 1998 until March, 2012 when it became absorbed into Greenwire.
Pubmed
Includes over 17 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles back to the 1950s". Includes links to free and fee-based full text articles. To search exclusively for FREE articles, click on "Limits" at the PubMed home page, and select "Links to free full text." Members of the VLS community may submit an ILL request, noting that the article is from PubMed, and the Library will obtain and pay for the article.
Science Direct
Cites to more than a quarter of the world's scientific, medical and technical information online in more than 2,000 peer-reviewed journals with an historical archive of over 6.75 million articles and hundreds of books. Provides, for most articles, bibliographic information, article abstracts, and author information, but not FREE full text. Members of the VLS community may submit an ILL request, noting that the article is from Science Direct, and the Library will obtain and pay for the article.
Science in Context
Science in Context provides authoritative coverage of subjects from earth and life sciences to technology, mathematics and science history. It's Earth & Environmental Science area includes topic areas such as: Agricultural Science, Air Pollution, Climate and Weather, Coal, Extinction, Fossil Fuels, Fracking, Natural Resource Management, Rare Earth Elements, Scientific Method, Wetlands, and Wind Energy, with links to reference sets including Gale Encyclopedia of Science, Chemical Elements, and Macmillan Science Library. It includes topic overviews and periodical articles from noted publications such as Science Weekly and Science News, as well as images and videos. Designed for students and researchers in high school and university coursework, this is also helpful as a starting point for many environmental law research projects.
Sustainability Science Abstracts
Sustainability Science Abstracts explores all aspects of sustainable development, human population and demography topics, topics of conservation of natural resources, as well as societal issues involving natural resource management. Coverage includes relevant papers, reports, books and reviews from standard peer-reviewed scientific journals. To ensure comprehensive coverage, material from conference proceedings and hard-to-find gray literature has also been summarized.
Urban Land Institute
ULI "initiates research that anticipates emerging land use trends and issues, proposing creative solutions based on that research". Includes news, articles, case studies and links on urban land issues such as civic engagement, public policy, smart growth, sustainable development, transportation, urban design, development and regeneration, international urban land. Vermont Journal of Environmental Law
The association of the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law (VJEL) engages and educates the legal, policy, and public communities through its Journal, other publications, online dialogue, and symposia on a broad range of environmental law and policy issues affecting local, aboriginal, national, and global communities. VJEL is the environmental law journal of the Vermont Law School, the United States' leading environmental law school. VJEL publishes both online and in print.
