Britta Hinrichsen, JD '07

Ms. Hinrichsen was recently accepted into the highly competitive U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Honors Program where she is a trial lawyer in the Environment and Natural Resources Division. She joined a number of VLS graduates who work for DOJ.

Michael Lauffer, JD '95

Mr. Lauffer is Chief Counsel to the California State Water Resource Control Board, where he supervises 37 attorneys and is responsible for water quality, water rights, and administrative functions of the California State Water Board. He also serves as an advisor to the Water Board, and represents the Board's interests before the California legislature, other public agencies, and outside groups.

Adam Kushner, JD '84

Mr. Kushner holds the position of  Director, Office of Civil Enforcement work, which is responsible for the conduct of civil environmental judicial and administrative regulatory enforcement (Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, FIFRA, TSCA, OPA, etc.) nation-wides the Director of the US EPA’s Air Enforcement Division (AED) in Washington, DC.

Meredith Hatfield, JD '96

Ms. Hatfield was recently appointed to serve as New Hampshire's Consumer Advocate, where she is charged with representing the interests of New Hampshire's residential utility ratepayers. She will oversee the representation of consumers before any board, commission, agency, court or regulatory body that hears issues involving energy, telecommunications, and water service, among others.
