FEDERAL STAFFORD AND GRADPLUS LOANS
To assist students in selecting a lender for their educational loans, Vermont Law School has selected lenders to consider based on a variety of criteria, including borrower benefits and customer service. Each year, we will review the list to make sure the lenders are meeting the expectations of VLS and its borrowers.
The financial aid office staff, along with input from our students, determined which lenders offered the best overall comprehensive package of educational financing products that would benefit our population.
The interest rates and terms of all Stafford loans are set by the U.S. Congress; however, some lenders offer special incentives that reduce your loan balance or lower your interest rates. Our review focused attention on certain criteria including competitive rates and terms, supportive customer service (such as call response time), and a flexible application and fund disbursement process.
Students are asked to contact the VLS Financial Aid Office whenever a lender provides unsatisfactory performance. Please note that you are not required to use one of these lenders. The Aid Office will process your loan using any lender you choose. Choosing a lender other than those suggested by VLS will not cause unnecessary certification delays.
VLS does not receive any revenue enhancements or inducements from any educational loan lender.
