Summer Session

Summers-only Master's

JD candidates at other law schools who have been accepted into the Master of Environmental Law and Policy program may attend the ELC’s extensive Summer Session for two summers. They may transfer a maximum of six credits of environmental law courses from their home institution to the master’s degree. Although the transfer of credits may provide some flexibility in terms of course selection, it does not reduce the amount of tuition for the master’s degree. Students work with an academic counselor or faculty advisor at Vermont Law School to design their programs. JD candidates at other law schools interested in applying to the master’s program should follow the MELP application instructions in the Admissions section of the Vermont Law School prospectus.

JD candidates at other institutions may also choose to transfer the environmental courses offered in the Summer Session to their home institutions instead of enrolling in the master’s program. Acceptance to the Summer Session for transfer credit does not constitute admission to the master’s degree program.
