"Every day I utilize the skill sets that Vermont Law School provided me with to make difficult and important decisions regarding the operation of a Minor League baseball team. The preparation and guidance that I received while at VLS made working in professional sports not just a dream, but a reality." —Andrew Weber '07, General Manager, Connecticut Tigers

Christal CuadraChristal Cuadra '10

Eligibility and Compliance Assistant, University of Hawaii at Manoa Athletics Department

Christal Cuadra earned her JD degree at Vermont Law School in 2010. She did her undergraduate degree on a full four-year athletic scholarship at San Diego State University, where she earned a bachelor of arts in economics and all-conference honors in cross-country and track. Before coming to law school, she worked for Senator Shan Tsutsui within the Hawaii State Legislature as the capital improvement projects specialist where she worked on the 2007 legislative budget.

Christal had the opportunity to work at the NCAA where she investigated high schools to determine their academic integrity and worked on an appellate case that headlined newspapers. Christal currently works with the University of Hawaii at Manoa Athletics Department as the eligibility and compliance assistant. She enjoys her job; as a former athlete who suffered severe career-ending injuries from running, she especially derives satisfaction when she helps a medically incapacitated athlete get an extra year to play by writing a compelling case to the WAC and/or the NCAA detailing the season-ending injury and persuading it to grant the rehabilitated player to get their year back and do what they love.

A native of Hawaii, Christal is passionate about her homeland and spends a lot of her free time involved in her community with a community clean-up group created by her father where she tackles graffiti, cleaning street gutters so that the rainwater can flow properly in the drainage system and not flood roads, and reporting illegal bulky item dumping to the mayor. She also enjoys running, hiking, stand-up paddling, and karaoke with her friends and family.
