Master of Environmental Law and Policy (MELP)

Our Master of Environmental Law and Policy program (MELP) prepares students to manage environmental organizations, lobby on behalf of environmental causes, organize effective public interest campaigns, and serve as advisors to high-level government decision makers. It also prepares students who wish to advocate within the private sector to effectively work for national and international change through support of green business practices. One School Brings Your Values to Life

Designed to accommodate different life situations, the degree can be completed in as little as 12 months. There are even summer sessions and online options. Students can also customize their studies based on individual career aspirations.

Through carefully balanced offerings in both areas, the MELP program shows students how to become effective agents of change. A world-renowned faculty delivers a curriculum of more than 60 courses, which includes a comprehensive introduction to the system of laws, policies, and regulations that protect the environment; an understanding of how governments, nonprofits, and corporations work together; a survey of ecology and environmental science; and a full range of advocacy and legal writing skills.
