Reference Services

Four librarians provide reference and research services to the VLS community and, to a lesser extent, the public. We can help you identify useful materials to answer any research question, no matter how large or small, help you develop information-gathering strategies and techniques, and help you evaluate your results. Librarians provide reference assistance Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5:00 and Saturday from 10AM-2PM. You may also schedule an appointment for individual assistance by email. We also offer individual and group instruction in legal research.

Access Services

Book circulation, stack maintenance, reserves, and inter-library loan are among the library services offered through the access services department. Please read the Interlibrary Loan Policy to learn more about inter-library loan process and policy, or request a book or article. The Access Services Department also coordinates reserving study carrels for eligible students.

Collection Management

The acquisition of library materials, cataloging, and maintenance of special collections and Julien are among the services offered by collection management. Click here to use Julien, and click here to suggest a title for purchase by the library. Please contact Jane Woldow regarding donations.
